Different reasons why many people are always on the internet

There are some people who are always on the internet at least fifteen hours a day. It makes me wonder what exactly they are doing on the internet. It can be really monotonous at times, so if I see someone spending so much time on the internet, I wonder what it that they are doing. I know that some are usually working, and others communicate with other people over the internet. If it is work, that is understandable because they get constant updates of their work over the internet. I noticed my niece was always on the internet and when I asked her what it is she does on the net all the time, and she told me to take a glimpse at what she was doing at the moment. She showed me a social network called myspace and she said that it always keeps her occupied. She said it is not all about chatting with people she barely knew. But all she did was to know myspace how to decorate her profile page. She said that is the only thing that kept her online because it made her think of ways she can make her profile page as unique as possible and that takes a lot of time.
